For parents and guardians

An AI Homework Helper That Makes Your Child Think

Most chatbots will happily do your child's homework for them. SchoolGPT's tutor asks questions, gives hints and checks their thinking, and you stay in charge: you can read the chats, set time limits and get an alert if a conversation shows your child may need a grown-up.

We understand the challenges

SchoolGPT was built by educators who have lived these problems every day. Here's what we solve for families.

Chatbots Hand Over the Answer

A general-purpose chatbot is built to be helpful, which usually means giving the final answer. Your child gets the homework done and learns very little.

You Can't See What They Asked

When a child uses an AI tool on their own, you have no idea what they asked or what it said. You shouldn't have to guess or look over their shoulder.

Screen Time Slips Away

Without limits, a helpful tool turns into one more thing to negotiate about at bedtime. You want homework help, not another late-night screen.

Privacy Is Hard to Judge

It's not always clear what happens to a child's messages, who they're shared with, or whether they're used to train AI. You want those answers in plain English.

Why families love SchoolGPT

Learning that sticks

Children do the thinking. The tutor asks questions, explains in small steps and asks them to say it back in their own words.

Always clear it's an AI

The tutor says it's an AI, doesn't pretend to be a friend, and encourages children to talk to a trusted adult about anything that's bothering them.

No ads, no selling, no training

We don't show ads, sell data or use children's chats to train AI models. Chats are deleted after 90 days.

You're in control

Set time limits, pick hints-only or more explanation, and review everything. Hand a device to your child and switch back with your password or parent PIN.

Frequently asked questions from families

How much does the Family plan cost?

$7.99 a month or $69 a year for up to 4 children, with a 7-day free trial.

Will it just give my child the answers?

By default, no. The tutor gives hints and asks guiding questions, and you can choose how much help it gives for each child. It isn't perfect and can make mistakes, so we suggest checking important facts together.

Can I see what my child talks about?

Yes. You can read every chat, and your child is told on screen that their grown-up can see them. You also get a weekly summary and alerts when a chat shows they may need support.

What happens if my child says something worrying?

The tutor stops tutoring, tells your child it's okay to ask a trusted adult for help, and shows relevant helplines. We create an alert for you to review. Our safeguards are not a replacement for you being there, and they won't catch everything.

What does SchoolGPT do with my child's data?

We collect only a first name or nickname, an age band, and the chats. Messages are processed by OpenAI to generate replies and check them for safety, and we use Postmark to email you. We don't show ads, sell data, build behavioural profiles or train AI on children's chats. Chats are deleted after 90 days, and you can export or delete everything at any time. Read the full details in our privacy policy.

Does my child need an email address?

No. Children sign in with your family code, their profile and a PIN or picture password. Only you have an email-based account.
