Support

Help for teachers, schools, parents and guardians using SchoolGPT on the web and on iPhone and iPad.

Is a child in danger right now?

Call your local emergency services. SchoolGPT is not an emergency service, and we cannot send help. In the US you can also call or text 988, and in the UK children can call Childline on 0800 1111.

Email us

Write to [email protected]. Tell us which device you use and, if it is about a learner, their first name or nickname only.

Frequently asked questions

How do learners sign in?

Learners do not have an email address or password. They go to schoolgpt.app/learn (or tap "I Have a Class or Family Code" in the iPhone and iPad app), enter their class code or family code, tap their name, then enter their picture password or 4-digit PIN.

Teachers find the class code and can print login cards with a QR code under Classes, then the class, then Student access. Parents find their family code on the Family page, or can tap "Hand to" a child to switch their own device into learner mode.

After five wrong tries, a profile is locked for ten minutes. Sign-ins last for up to eight hours.

How do I reset a learner's PIN or picture password?

Only an adult can reset it. We cannot reset a learner's password for them, because we never ask children for an email address.

  • Teachers: open the class, go to Student access, and choose Reset password next to the learner. Print or note the new one, because it will not be shown again.
  • Parents: open your child from the Family page, go to Controls, and use Change sign-in to pick a new PIN or picture password.
How do I delete my account in the iPhone or iPad app?

Open the app, go to Account, then tap Delete Account and confirm. This permanently deletes your account and its data, including your classes, child profiles and their chats. It cannot be undone.

To delete just one child's profile instead, use the Family controls for that child.

How do I delete my account on the web?

Sign in at schoolgpt.app, go to Account, and choose Delete account. You can choose Export my data first if you want a copy.

Teachers can remove a single learner from the class page under Student access. Parents can delete a single child's profile from that child's page under Controls, then Pause or delete. If you cannot sign in, email us from the address on the account and we will help.

How do safety alerts work?

Every learner message and AI reply goes through automated safety checks. Personal details such as phone numbers and addresses are removed before a message is stored or sent to the AI.

If a chat raises a concern, we create an alert for the responsible adult: the teacher who runs the class, or the parent or guardian. Alerts appear in the Safety inbox (teachers) or Alerts (parents). For urgent concerns, the tutor stops, encourages the child to talk to a trusted adult, and shows a helpline where available, and we also email you straight away. For a class, that email also goes to the school's safeguarding contact if the teacher has added one. Teachers can escalate any alert to their safeguarding lead from the Safety inbox.

These checks can miss things and can flag things that are fine. They do not replace adult supervision or your school's safeguarding procedures.

How do I export data?
  • Your account: on the web, go to Account and choose Export my data to download a JSON file of everything in your account.
  • A learner in a class: open the class, go to Student access, and choose Export next to the learner.
  • A child in your family: open the child's page and use the download option under "Your data, your call".
I'm a school leader or safeguarding lead (DSL). Who do I contact?

Email [email protected] with your school name in the subject line. We can help with Data Processing Agreements, privacy reviews, data requests and safeguarding questions.

Teachers can add the school's safeguarding contact under Settings, then Safeguarding, so urgent and escalated alerts reach the right person.

What should I do about an urgent concern?

If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency services now. SchoolGPT is not an emergency service, a crisis line or a counselling service, and our team cannot respond to emergencies.

For a safeguarding concern that is not an emergency, follow your school's safeguarding procedure and speak to your designated safeguarding lead, or contact your local child protection services. You can also email us if you need help finding a chat or alert.

Read our Privacy Policy to see how we handle children's information, and our Terms of Service for the rules for using SchoolGPT.
