Terms of Service

SchoolGPT is provided by COMMA COLLECTIVE PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore (UEN 202607437W) at 160 Robinson Road, #14-04, Singapore Business Federation Center, Singapore 068914 ("we", "us"). These Terms cover the SchoolGPT website and web app and the SchoolGPT app for iPhone and iPad (together, "SchoolGPT"). You can reach us at [email protected].

Only adults can create SchoolGPT accounts. You must be at least 18 years old, able to enter into these Terms, and one of the following:

• a teacher or other member of school staff, or
• a parent or legal guardian setting up a family account.

You can sign up on the web or in the iOS app, with an email address and password, with Google, or with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Do not share your account.

Children cannot create accounts. They can only use SchoolGPT through a learner profile created by an adult, as described below.

For teachers, SchoolGPT provides AI tools for teaching work such as lesson planning, quizzes, rubrics, grading support, parent communication, worksheets, IEP support drafts and report comments, plus classes and Spaces: guided AI activities a teacher sets up for their students.

For families, SchoolGPT lets a parent or guardian create learner profiles for their children, set time limits and quiet hours, and review their children's chats and safety alerts.

For learners, SchoolGPT provides an AI tutor that works within the rules their teacher or parent sets.

Learners (students and children) sign in with a class or family code, then tap their name and enter a picture password or PIN. They do not have an email address or password with us. The adult who creates a learner profile is responsible for it.

If you are a teacher or school

• Only turn on student access if your school has authorised you to use SchoolGPT with its students. You confirm this before learner profiles are created, and we keep a record of that confirmation.
• Where the law treats the school as the data controller for pupil information (for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR), the school decides how that information is used and we process it on the school's instructions. Where US law applies, the school is responsible for any notice to parents, or consent from them, that it needs for an educational service like ours.
• Follow your school's safeguarding, privacy and acceptable-use policies, and tell parents that your class uses SchoolGPT where your school requires it.
• Schools can ask for a Data Processing Agreement at [email protected].

If you are a parent or guardian

• Only create profiles for children you are the parent or legal guardian of.
• By creating a profile, you give consent for us to collect and use your child's information as described in the Students and children section of our Privacy Policy. A profile is not active until you give that consent. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the profile.
• You are responsible for your child's use of SchoolGPT, including the time limits, quiet hours and other settings you choose.

In both cases, keep learner details to a first name or nickname, and do not enter a child's full name, date of birth, address, photo or other identifying details. For teacher tools, use aliases, initials or first names for students and keep observations to what your writing needs. Do not enter student ID numbers, home addresses, health or disability details, or disciplinary records.

The adult who created a learner profile should explain these rules to the child in a way they understand:

• Use SchoolGPT for learning, in a way that is right for your age, with a grown-up or teacher looking after you.
• Your teacher or grown-up can see your chats.
• Do not share personal information, such as your full name, address, phone number, school, passwords or photos, or anyone else's.
• SchoolGPT is an AI. It is not a person, and it can make mistakes. Check important things with your teacher or grown-up.
• SchoolGPT is not a teacher, a counsellor or an emergency service. If you are worried, upset or in danger, tell a trusted adult straight away. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
• Be kind, and do not try to get SchoolGPT to say or do harmful things.

SchoolGPT uses AI models to generate text. AI outputs can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, biased or unsuitable, even when they sound confident. They are drafts and suggestions, not professional, medical, legal, psychological or safeguarding advice.

Teachers and parents are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them, sharing them or using them with children, and for deciding whether content is accurate, appropriate and in line with school policy and the law. AI does not replace the judgement of a teacher, counsellor or other qualified professional.

To help keep learners safe, SchoolGPT:

• checks learner messages and AI replies with automated moderation;
• removes personal details it can detect, such as phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses and links, before a message is stored or sent to the AI;
• creates safety alerts for the responsible adult (the teacher who runs the class, or the parent or guardian) when a chat raises a concern;
• for urgent concerns, such as a possible risk of harm, stops tutoring, encourages the child to talk to a trusted adult, shows a helpline where available, and alerts the responsible adult. Teachers can pass an alert to their school's safeguarding lead.

These tools help, but they have limits. Automated checks can miss things and can flag things that are fine. Alerts depend on email delivery and on an adult reading them. SchoolGPT is not a safeguarding service, a crisis line, a clinical or counselling service, or an emergency service, and we do not monitor chats in real time.

Teachers, schools and parents remain responsible for supervising children, for acting on alerts, and for following their own safeguarding procedures and the law. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

A small number of authorised SchoolGPT staff can use administration tools to run, secure and support the service. Their access is logged. Staff do not read children's chats as a matter of routine, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

You agree not to, and not to let a learner you are responsible for:

• Use SchoolGPT for illegal, harmful, deceptive, abusive or harassing activity.
• Create, request or share content that sexualises minors, promotes self-harm, violence or hate, or bullies or exploits anyone.
• Try to bypass, disable or trick safety checks, moderation, content filters, time limits or quiet hours, including through "jailbreak" or prompt-injection attempts.
• Create learner profiles for children you are not authorised to, or use a learner profile to pretend to be someone else.
• Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, subscriptions or access controls.
• Share your account with others or resell access without permission.
• Upload malware, scrape the service, or attempt to disrupt SchoolGPT systems.
• Use generated content in a way that violates school policy, privacy law or intellectual property rights.

You keep ownership of the prompts, files and classroom materials you submit. Subject to applicable law and third-party rights, you may use generated outputs for your educational work.

You give us permission to process your inputs and outputs, and learners' chats, only as needed to provide, secure, support and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your content or children's chats to train AI models.

You can delete your account at any time. In the iPhone and iPad app, go to Account, then Delete Account. On the web, go to Account, then Delete account. You can also download a copy of your data from your Account page first.

When you delete your account, we delete it along with the classes, learner profiles, children's chats, safety alerts and other content it holds. Teachers can also remove a single learner, and parents can delete a single child's profile, at any time. Deletion from our production systems happens straight away; backup copies are overwritten within 30 days.

Even while an account is open, learner chats are kept only for a limited time. Retention periods, and the records we must keep for legal reasons such as billing, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

If you sign in with Google or with Sign in with Apple, your use of those services is also governed by Google's or Apple's own terms and privacy policies. We receive only the account details needed to sign you in, such as your name and email address (or the private relay address Apple provides). We are not responsible for those services, and if you lose access to them you may need to contact us to recover your SchoolGPT account.

Some features may require a paid plan. Paid plans are purchased on the SchoolGPT website, not in the iPhone or iPad app, and are processed by our payment provider, Polar, as merchant of record. Prices, plan limits and billing terms are shown at checkout. If you cancel, your plan remains active through the paid billing period unless otherwise stated.

The iOS app is free to download and does not offer in-app purchases. Apple is not involved in, and is not responsible for, any payments made on our website.

SchoolGPT uses third-party providers for AI model access, hosting, security, storage, email, analytics, payments and support chat. The current list of providers and where they process data is in the Privacy Policy.

We may update, add, remove or limit features. We try to keep SchoolGPT reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every output will be complete, accurate or error-free.

SchoolGPT is not offered in every country. It is currently not available in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan or Vietnam, and we may change the countries where it is offered. You may not use SchoolGPT from a country where it is not offered, or where using it would break local law.

We may suspend or terminate access, including a learner's access, if an account violates these Terms, creates security risk, causes service abuse, or is used in a way that may harm children, SchoolGPT or others. You may stop using SchoolGPT at any time.

SchoolGPT is provided as an educational and productivity tool, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months before the claim.

If you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including any statutory right of withdrawal for paid plans and liability that cannot be excluded by law. The limits in the section above apply only as far as the law of your country allows.

If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.

If you download SchoolGPT from Apple's App Store, these extra terms also apply. If they conflict with the rest of these Terms, these extra terms apply to your use of the iOS app.

• Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and COMMA COLLECTIVE PTE. LTD. only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the SchoolGPT app and its content.
• Scope of licence. We grant you a limited, non-transferable licence to use the SchoolGPT app on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
• Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as described on our Support page or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
• Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by any failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent not effectively disclaimed.
• Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession and use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
• Intellectual property rights. If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
• Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo, or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Developer name and contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to COMMA COLLECTIVE PTE. LTD. (UEN 202607437W), 160 Robinson Road, #14-04, Singapore Business Federation Center, Singapore 068914, at [email protected].
• Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your mobile data or wireless service agreement.
• Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

We may update these Terms as SchoolGPT changes. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the new Terms.
